This week I learnt to add and subtract fractions. Now that I know how to do it I can give you one. If I had 1/6 - 5/6= 4/6 because 1-5=4. We can do a mixed number if I had 4 5/6 - 3 2/6= 2 3/6 that is the answer because 4-2=2 and 5/6 - 2/6 = 3/6 if you divide 3= 1 and 6 divide 3= 2 so the answer is 2 1/2

Problem Solving Week 10

W.A.L.T: Solve Problems with fractions. 

This week I learnt to add fractions. Now that I know how to do it I can give you one. If rose ran 3 1/12 and the next day she ran 6 1/12  you have to add 6+3= 9. So the answer = 9 1/12.

How To Make A Poppy?

W.A.L.T: Explain how to make a poppy    

This week we have learnt to make a poppy. It was hard at first now it is not. Make sure you have all the thing to make a nice poppy.

Side Scrolling Game

W.A.L.T: Make a side scrolling game. 

This term I have learnt to make a side scrolling game. I have aslo learnt to make the background side scroll. I have also learnt to add more detail to my characters.

Explanation Using Simple Or Complex Sentences.

W.A.L.T: write an explanation using simple or complex sentences. 

This week I have learnt what a complex and a simple sentence is. A simple sentence is when it does not have a lot of details. A complex sentence is when you have more detail added to the beginning, middle and end.

This week I remember s to convert  improper numbers into mix . But first I am going to do a question. So for example, 29/9 you divide 29 by 9 = 3 2/9.

This week I have learnt a lot because we got a week or 2 to find out how many kids want  a new playground. First I have learnt to make a brand new survey for what things there wanted on the park and what things there didn't want on the park.

Diving Into Icy Cold Water!

Walt: write an engaging

Swimming diving what a cool thing to do in the morning!! As I thought to myself since I like the sound of diving why don’t I go diving into the freezing cold water. “Ah” as I was in the icy cold water! When I was swimming back onto the ice my head was shocking. When I got back on the ice I said I never want to do that again because it is freezing cold.

Explaining My Game!

What a game I am making! A game that is called The game plan what a fun game to play! I am going to be explaining what my game is about and how you lose a life and how you win. What a task we were giving! We had to make a interesting and a detailed game that we can play during a wet lunch time. Make sure you have a ipad to play!!

What two lead character do you think I have? Well both of them are Maddison and phineas. What a land Maddison is in that has a lot of spikes and if Maddison wants a lot of coins she has to collect as many coins as she can. Just like jet pack but different that is where Phineas is. Well Phineas mission is to get all the coins if he tries and go and finish line Phineas loses a life until he complete getting all his coins he can move onto the last level. Which is level 3.

I am going to give you one challenge of what one character does. Well I am going to tell you about Maddison and her challenge. Her challenge is to get as many coins as she wants and has to get more than 3 coins to get more coins she has to jump over spikes. To win you have to get to the finish line. To jump you have to double tap and to run you have to use one finger. Make sure you have an Ipad to play!!

Another amazing challenge is like jetpack back it is Phineas. To win you have to get all the coins if Phineas tries and finishes he loses a life. Before he gets to the finish line he has to get all the coins thats is on that mission.

By having a game during wet lunchtime. making it a little bit hard and also there do not get bored. I hope you take another look at my blog to see my game that I have made. Maybe if you get bored you can make a cool game for everyone to play. Remember this rule if you make a game have a lot of detail and make it a little bit hard.        

Problem Solving Week 9

W.A.L.T: use fractions. 

This week we have been giving a fractions problem solving. Why don't you take a look at Week 9 problem which is right here.

This week I have learnt that 4/7 is is bigger than  3/8 . Because Zack needs 3 more and B.J needs 5 more. Now that I now how to do it I can give you an example if I have 7/9 and Seini has 7/8 I know that it would be Seini because she only needs one more  to complete her to do list and I need to more to complete my to do list.

W.A.L.T: Convert fractions. 

Every week we get giving and education. This week we have learnt to move mixes numbers into improper fractions.

This I have learnt that we can move mixes numbers into improper fractions. Now that I know how to do it I can give you two first we will start of with mixes numbers if the question was 5 2/10 you do 5x10=50+2=52 so the answer will be 52/10. Now looks move onto the next one and it will be improper fractions if we 32/3 we would do this 32 divide by 3= 10r2 so the answer will be 10 2/3.

This is a presentation that Mr Somerville has made for us and put two question in this presentation. This is a problem solving presentation.  

This week I have got a little bit of Mr Somerville help because I did not get it now I do. Now that I know I can give you one example if Seini and Yvonne had to a to do list and Yvonne read 4/10 and Seini read 4/5 who would of read the most? I know that the answer is Seini because she only need 1/5  to complete her to do list and yvonne needs 6/10.

This week I have learnt to identify things in the photos. For example if you had a photo on there will be a lot of things that you can say like a man water legs arms stick and many other things.

Compare The Differences Between Christchurch and Auckland

Walt: find comparisons and differences between items and provide proof
This week I have learnt to compare the differences  between Christchurch  and Auckland.


I have also learnt that Christchurch use different  materiel for malls,  church and other emergency so there can get people into house quickly. I have also learnt that  a lot of data about what there use for church like  cardboard for there church. When you want to visit the art gallery you can't because it has been busted down from many earthquake. So instead of making a art gallery so there painted beautiful art  outside and you can drive around and see it all.

This week I have learnt that fraction is like division . For examples  if there was 15 and you had to spilt it up into 1/3 how much would it be. So 15 divided by 2= 7.5 so if we do 15  divided by 3=5 so the answer will be 1/3 of 15=3.

WALT: Solve fraction problems.


 
I have learnt a lot for and example 1/3 of 27 what you do is you garb the 27 what is the number that 27 it is 9 because 27  divide by 3=9 9x1=9 so the answer is 9. At frist it was hard but now I can do any  fraction problems.
