Trade and enterprise

W.A.L.T: Add one main idea pre paragraph.

This term our whole topic is about trade and enterprise! For our topic we have broken up into 6 different groups. Trade and enterprise is all about learning how to create products of our own and selling them for a profit. Profit means that you sell your product for more than you made it for. So for example, if I made a key ring and it cost 5 dollars and I sold it for 8 dollars I will be making a profit of 3 dollars.

Last Friday we had a trade fair. A trade fair is different to a market because a trade fair is when you are trying to make a lot of orders and showing customers what your product is going to look like. It’s like if you go to a market there already have the things there.

I was picked to be in the custom group. In my group we can make anything we want that is stationary. First before we got started of what we were going to do first we had to get into groups of 3-4. In my group I have 4 people and there are Me, Patricia, Aliyah and Sulieti. In my group we are creating name labels for you to put on whatever you want, like your chromebook or tote trays.

Our teachers also planned for us to learn about currency. Do you know what currency is? Well currency is another word for money. Our money is called PT’s. If I had one PT and turn it into New Zealand money it will be double the value. So, it will be 2 dollars and 2 PT will make 4 New Zealand dollars.




I’m really excited about our market day coming up in week 8! We are hoping to make lots of PTs!!

Explaining Your Thinking & Understanding

This term for our topic it is called Tinkering, Tools and Toys. For Tinkering, Tools and Toys we had to make a side scrolling game. First we had to make a plan On our Google drive so we know what we are doing and what I need to add. We had to make three levels or background and make any lead character you want. First before we started planning our games we had to play two games one was super Mario brothers.

What I have learnt is to make your three background side scroll. I have also learnt to add a lot of details and to take my time. If you ever make you a side scrolling game make sure that it looks good and it is a little bit hard for the older kids and easy for the younger kids.

Sunsmart

Summer. Make sure you wear sunscreen and hats that is how you keep sunsmart! If you do not know how to stay safe read this story!

Hats is an important thing to wear so it can cover your head. You wear a hat because if your head gets burn you can get skin cancer and you might die. When you are at school make sure to wear a hat! If you wear a hat you will not get skin cancer because you have protect your head.

Sunscreen. Make sure you slap on some sunscreen so you do not get sunburn. Sunburn can give you skin cancer. If you get skin cancer you can die if you do not protect yourself.

Now you know what sunsmart is about. Go and teach the world how to be sunsmart.

Explanation Using Simple Or Complex Sentences.

W.A.L.T: write an explanation using simple or complex sentences. 

This week I have learnt what a complex and a simple sentence is. A simple sentence is when it does not have a lot of details. A complex sentence is when you have more detail added to the beginning, middle and end.

Diving Into Icy Cold Water!

Swimming diving what a cool thing to do in the morning!! As I thought to myself since I like the sound of diving why don’t I go diving into the freezing cold water. “Ah” as I was in the icy cold water! When I was swimming back onto the ice my head was shocking. When I got back on the ice I said I never want to do that again because it is freezing cold.

Explaining My Game!

What a game I am making! A game that is called The game plan what a fun game to play! I am going to be explaining what my game is about and how you lose a life and how you win. What a task we were giving! We had to make a interesting and a detailed game that we can play during a wet lunch time. Make sure you have a ipad to play!!

What two lead character do you think I have? Well both of them are Maddison and phineas. What a land Maddison is in that has a lot of spikes and if Maddison wants a lot of coins she has to collect as many coins as she can. Just like jet pack but different that is where Phineas is. Well Phineas mission is to get all the coins if he tries and go and finish line Phineas loses a life until he complete getting all his coins he can move onto the last level. Which is level 3.

I am going to give you one challenge of what one character does. Well I am going to tell you about Maddison and her challenge. Her challenge is to get as many coins as she wants and has to get more than 3 coins to get more coins she has to jump over spikes. To win you have to get to the finish line. To jump you have to double tap and to run you have to use one finger. Make sure you have an Ipad to play!!

Another amazing challenge is like jetpack back it is Phineas. To win you have to get all the coins if Phineas tries and finishes he loses a life. Before he gets to the finish line he has to get all the coins thats is on that mission.

By having a game during wet lunchtime. making it a little bit hard and also there do not get bored. I hope you take another look at my blog to see my game that I have made. Maybe if you get bored you can make a cool game for everyone to play. Remember this rule if you make a game have a lot of detail and make it a little bit hard.        

Ancient Greece

A long time ago  in Syracuse,  Ancient Greece   there was a great  mathematician name  Archimedes. One day when  he was taking a bath he discovered something  life changing. When he got in  some water got  displaced and it overflowed  over the bath tub.

Archimedes discovery got him   thinking.  He was  so excited that he ran through the streets without any clothes on shouting Eureka ! Eureka ! This meant that I have found it in greek.

He figure out if you put something in water and it is lighter  than the among of water being  displaced, the object  will float. This is known as buoyancy or the Archimedes principle. So if the object can float it is buoyant.

Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross for there  sins. On Friday Jesus died on the cross it was said on Easter Sunday that Jesus resurrected to heaven.

Conclusion

All over the world, there are many beliefs about Easter. At the end of the day, it all depends on what you believe it is all about. What does Easter mean to you?

Key competencies.

Do you know what the  key competencies are? I do let me tell you what the key competencies are. The key competencies are the five steps to success at school. The five key competencies are thinking,managing yourself,relating to others,using language,symbols and texts and participating and contributing.

Thinking

I am really good at thinking. Thinking means using your brain to answer hard questions. When you get a hard questions you have to think really hard.

Sometimes I am not good at participating and contributing. Because sometimes I do not want to give answer. Why you ask? Because my teacher doesn't pick me sometime and I just don't want to say anything everything.But I need to try.

Conclusion

So there you have it. Now you know what key competencies I am really super good at Thinking because I love to give answer’s. I need to work on

The 2014 camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you been in a tent  before? Well I have. I was in the Care Squad, I was so lucky that I was in that team. I slept in the tent with Aysa, Adriel  on Wednesday and Thursday night . I was camping  at school and we were sleeping at school. It was only for the year five and six.

The thing I was most overjoyed about at camp was camp cooking. It was the Care Squad’s first rotation. It was on thursday morning and we cooked by the hall. I was over the moon. We had to have teamwork and the food we made was tasty.

Our third activity was table tennis , basketball and roller skating. It was so fun, I most enjoyed table tennis, we were  in the hall. I was so jolly.

The first  rotation on Wednesday was top town it was so hard.We had a water fight  in the game.When we were finished we had to raise the flag up. I was walking on air.

When we go to sleep people were giggling. It was so freezing in the tent. I was scared. It was funny.

In the middle of the night I could not go to sleep because people were fake coughing.It was so hard because it was freezing.  I was so joyful that i got to sleep in a tent. It was the best night ever.

We did not go home we were lucky enough that we got to sleep in a tent.

Camp was sure over the moon! Sleeping in a tent, Top town and Camp Cooking was on the top of my list. As we were cleaning up on the last day it was not so cool. I hope you come next year with me.

This is a story about Granddad’s medals.

I love my Granddad.We have lots of fun together.We  go swimming and fishing down at the wharf.My Grandad is teaching me how to tie a proper fisherman’s knot.He has an old tin box full  of hooks and sinkers fishing  things.It smells like the sea, and looks like pirates’ treasure.

GRANDDAD HAS  A big jar of peppermints by his bed.He gives me same to put in my pockets.We  go for big walks in the park and, when the wind blows just right we fly kites.

The mother of the butterfly egg laids

many eggs   at a time.If you look closely it is so small. When it is ready to came out eat eats the leaf it was bron on.

As soon as the caterpillar is done growing it changes into pupa. In the pupa the old body parts are transforming into a butterfly. THis is called metamorphosis.

When the butterfly first emerges both of the wings are soft.when the butterfly has rested it will pump blood into the wings.Later it will find a panther and laid more eggs.This is when the butterfly life cycle start again.      

Can not wait for camp Waimaria

You would never guess what we are doing this week? We are going camp.The year five and six  are going, so we can meet other`s and have some fun. We are camping at Pt England School, we are going camp this Wednesday,Thursday and Friday.

I am really looking forward to go camp cooking. Because I want to taste the cooking. I really want to see how lovely it tastes.

I can not wait to go to top town because I want to see how fun it is. To bust down other people`s  castles. Would you like do do top town  with us?

Also I can not wait to do get lost. Because it is like amazing races. Do you like  amazing races?

Waimaria a life cycle of a frog. do you know the life cycle of a frog?

You will never guess what the four main stages about the life cycle about a frog is? Well you have come to the right place. The first stage is the frog egg, the second stage is  the tadpole,the third stage is froglet and the last stage is the adult frog.

The first stage of the frogs begins like this. The frog egg is laid in the pond.The frog can lay many eggs, this is called spawn. It  is sticky like  jelly because the jelly helps protects their lives.   

Most of the tadpoles don't live for very long because the nasty snakes eat  the tadpoles.The gills help the tadpoles to breath oxygen.It aslo has a tail to help it swim, then they grown legs  later on.

Now I am on the froglet stage. The froglets  tail disappears because it has legs to move. Also the grills disappear because it doesn't live under water any more because it lives on land.When the froglet is hungry  it waits to find it`s  food.

When the frog is a adult it lives on land.This is when the frog life cycle starts again.This is called metamorphosis.

Being a good friend is caring. Like last year my friend Talita had broken her leg.When she came to school we were looking after her because we cared about her.She was not so jolly.We made feel her over the moon because we kept on playing with her. She was looked after by her  best friends, we will never put her down.

Being a good friend is when it comes to sharing.When people came to school and have no lunch. Just go over their and ask if  their want some  of your  lunch. And there so yes you should be walking on air.  

That is the end of to be a nice friend. You should try it. It will make your friend joyful because you care about your friend. It shows that you care about your friend.It will make your feel the best becase you care about your friend.
